Answer:
Very Low Birth Weight (VLBW) refers to any infant meeting the eligibility criteria for the VLBW database. Specifically, infants whose birth weight is less than or equal to 1500 grams or whose gestational age is less than or equal to 29 weeks 6 days who is admitted to or dies in any location in your center within 28 days of birth.
