How do I create an account for the Community Forum?

Answer:

If you don't have a Vermont Oxford Network Email and Password you can create a public account. If you are a member of a VON center and should have access to more than just the publicly available information please reach out to the VON Champion or VON Services Administrator for your Center. 

If you need help identifying your VON Champion or VON Services Administrator feel free to reach out to your Account Manager with VON, or contact VON Support at [e-mail] or by calling us at [phone] x240.

To create a public account:

1. On the Portal login page click Register New User
2. Fill out the requested information
3. Click on the box by I'm not a robot
4. Click Next
5. Find the email that was sent and follow the instructions to create a password.
6. Click on the box by I accept these terms, if you agree to the Terms of Use
7. Click the green Accept button
8. Confirm (or correct and then confirm) the information in the Create New Account box, by clicking the green Create New Account button.

After creating a new account you will need to log into Portal and navigate to Community Forum (see below) by opening the Community navigation menu and selecting Community Forum from there, and then log out of each section individually. They are two separate websites (Community Forum is hosted by Discourse) but when you log out of both and then log back into portal it joins the accounts.

To log out of Community:

1. Click on the Notifications and Account menu in the top right. It is the circle with your first initial in it.

2. On the right side of the Notifications and Account menu click on Profile (the person icon).

3. Click Logout at the bottom of the Profile menu

Click Log Out to log out of the Community Forum

After logging out of Community Forum you will still be logged into VON Portal, unless it timed you out already. The Log out option in Portal is located in the top right.

Click "Log out" in the top right of any page in Portal to log out.

Once you have logged out of both locations wait a few minutes and then log back into Portal and navigate to Community Forum where you should see all your groups and categories.
